Born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1971, I began my study of the guitar at the age of 16. I spent the majority of my youth immersed in my vast record collection and frequenting local music venues both as a listener and player. Originally drawn to classic and hard rock, I have since diversified my musical palette to include studies in classical, jazz, country, and blues.

In 1996, I acquired a Bachelor of Business Administration at Kennesaw State College, spent a short time in sales and management, and then earned a music performance degree from the Atlanta Institute of Music in 2001.

While attending music school, I began teaching fulltime and have taught as many as 60 lessons a week for over 20 years! I have had the pleasure of tutoring my students from their first musical notes to the performance stage!

Today, I maintain a busy schedule  teaching the guitar players of tomorrow as well as mentoring some of my previous  students who are now teaching and playing guitar for a living themselves! A lifelong pursuit, I continue to study the guitar and its history. I look forward to continuing my career as an educator helping others to enjoy the instrument.
